/ba∙ca/ with New Naratif is a reading group series that invites members to come together to discuss selected stories published by New Naratif.
As we enter the new year, a lot of us may be feeling anxious after facing three years that were filled with uncertainty and difficulty. Jessica Horn says it well in “Resist by Flourishing”, “well-being is not a luxury, it is an individual and collective need”. In the movement to democratize democracy in Southeast Asia, collective care is essential for the sustainability of the work we’re doing.
Join the New Naratif team on 31st January at 8 p.m. GMT+8 for a casual discussion on collective care and how we can all embody collective care in our daily lives as we enter 2023.
Main reading:
- Growing Together: A Guide to Collective Care written by Minxi Chua with illustrations by Namsai Khaobor
Supplementary reading:
- A Future with No Future: Depression, the Left, and the Politics of Mental Health by Mikkel Krause Frantzen
This event is free for all members. Non-members can purchase a US$5 ticket that includes a month of New Naratif membership.
