Are you interested in conservation efforts in your local community? Join Alicia Teoh, founder of Shah Alam Community Forest Society (SACFS) and Suresh Kumar, member of the Save Kuala Langat North Forest Reserve coalition and SACFS member to hear about community led conservation efforts in Malaysia.

Bring your ideas for how you would like to make change in your community. We’ll discuss and workshop potential campaigns!

Alicia Teoh is the founder of Shah Alam Community Forest (SACF) Society. SACF Society is a community-based organisation consisting mostly of Setia Alam residents who came together in 2014 to protect a small forest in their backyard. Today SACF is a vibrant urban community forest visited by thousands every week to enjoy nature within a city.

Suresh Kumar is a member of Parti Sosialis Malaysia. He has been actively involved with social and political activism in Cameron Highlands from 2003 till 2018. He has worked on environmental protection through his work as People Before Profit Coordinator at SUARAM throughout 2021.

Please note that the presentation portion of the event will be recorded.

This event is free for New Naratif members. Non-members can purchase a ticket for US$5, which comes with a one-month membership to New Naratif.
